NJ Pledge Groups
What is Rainbow Pledge?
The lessons taught through the Rainbow Pledge program teach moral values, teamwork, respect, patriotism, and charity to others. Rainbow builds character, self-confidence, friendship and faith.
Rainbow Pledges are girls age 5 to 10 years old. Each pledge Group is affiliated with a Rainbow Assembly. Pledge Groups typically meet twice a month: one formal and one informal meeting. At their formal meeting, the girls wear white dresses, or skirts and blouses. They conduct their business and perform their ceremonies. At their informal meeting, the Pledge Mother or Pledge Sister plans an activity, an outing, or a charity or service project. Rainbow Pledges may earn merit bars for such things as regular attendance, participation in charity or service projects, and holding offices.
The New Jersey Rainbow Pledge Program is part of the International Order of the Rainbow for Girls (IORG). We are only affiliated with Masonic Lodges, Order of the Eastern Star Chapters, and Courts of Amaranth, however a girl does not need to be affiliated with one of these groups for membership. Many groups and organizations use the name of Rainbow in their title or organizational name. We are NOT associated with any other group than the three listed above.
This web site acknowledges allegiance to the Supreme Assembly of the International Order of the Rainbow for Girls, to Mrs. Cora-Ellen Moody, our Supreme Worthy Advisor, and to the Grand Assembly of New Jersey and Miss Kathleen Nase, our Supreme Inspector.
